Migration
Migration is a hand-crafted, printed newsletter tracing the quiet marvels of birdlife in and around Sydney. Each issue is a tender field note from my world — a blend of personal observation, ecological reverence, and artistic reflection.
Inside each envelope, you’ll find a curated offering:
– a monthly focus on one companion bird, complete with artistic illustration and sticker
– a photograph from my camera, capturing a moment of stillness or flight– lyrical field notes drawn from real sightings and locations
– a poem or short passage
– a gentle prompt to carry through the month
– and a non-exhaustive epilogue: birds seen, remembered, and named.
Rooted in the rhythm of noticing and the soft work of paying attention, Migration is for those who find meaning in feathered things, quiet weather, and the ecology of feeling.
• A printed 4–6 page newsletter featuring:
— A poetic Prologue reflecting on the month’s emotional and natural landscape
— A full Observation Record – Field Notes from a real birding day (with date, location, species, habitat, and weather)
— A Featured Bird of the Month:
↳ A short, lyrical profile on one bird seen that month
↳ A small original watercolour illustration
↳ A vinyl sticker of that bird, perfect for notebooks or field journals
— A reflective poem or prose passage (written or translated by Najika)
— A photograph from Najika’s personal field archive
— A gentle prompt or question to carry with you
— An Epilogue: a list of birds seen in Sydney that month — non-exhaustive, but lovingly noted
Each letter is printed on soft recycled paper, sealed by hand, and mailed with care.
